B.E.S.T. Center
We support Julie Broyles who works with the Best Centre.
Our congregation has made contributions in cash and needed supplies to the people of Cambodia. Funds have been sent to help with life jackets for children, safe drinking water, and more. Report from Granbury Church of Christ in Texas Friends and Supporters of the B.E.S.T. Center in Phnom Penh, Cambodia: A recent trip to Cambodia by a representative of the Missions Committee from the Granbury Church of Christ, returned with a report of awesome things happening in Phnom Penh. Thanks to your continued support and prayers, the work directed and overseen by Julie Broyles is showing itself to be a powerful tool in bringing the Gospel to a country so much in need of the presence of Christ. You may remember that Julie reframed and reopened a program previously initiated by Partners in Progress a number of years ago. Beginning in July of 2010, Julie reopened the PP Center as the Bible English study and Training Center, or the "BEST Center". This new endeavour included a new location and facilities, updates in teaching materials and personnel, and a very efficient and active program for reaching out and the touching lives of those entering the program to learn English through their study of the Bible. In the short six months since the new center opened, Julie has overseen the sharing of scripture with over 250 students, who have participated in over 2500 hours of biblical instruction, and have seen the program influence at least six Cambodians to accept the Gospel in that short time. Those who have visited or worked at the center have found it to be not only very efficiently run and directed, but a very welcoming place to come and teach or study, where students are welcomed and allowed to experience the love of Christ from all those inside the open doors. Reports from visitors and teachers find the Center to be well organized and providing a very safe and comfortable atmosphere for both students and teachers. Great care has been taken to provide the resources and opportunities that the center was designed to bring about. Numerous letters from teachers and visitors have shared these and any number of other words of praise and thanks for the work that Julie, the Center, and the Lord are doing in Cambodia. The Missions Committee here at Granbury wants to thank you for your role in providing for and supporting the work in Phnom Penh. Through your sacrificial offering of resources and prayers, the BEST Center has been able to open and begin its work of introducing the Scriptures to the lost and searching of Cambodia. Through your on-going support and sharing of resources, the work there can continue to grow and minister to more and more of those still waiting to begin their own journey at the Center. Remember, Julie's work at the Center is dependent on teachers, folks just like you, who are willing to offer their time to share their lives and the love of Christ with others. However you may have supported the work in Cambodia in the past, consider offering a little bit of your time by joining the work as a teacher on site there in Phnom Penh. Contact Julie and encourage her through your willingness to go and be one of those who are becoming the presence of Christ in that land so very far away. We pray for your continued partnership with Julie and the BEST Center, and offer our thanks and appreciation for all that you have already done and will continue to do for the sake of the Kingdom in Cambodia. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Julie directly, or contact the Missions Committee here at Granbury. Know of our prayers on your behalf as partners in this amazing opportunity to answer the Lord's call to "Go and make disciples". May the coming year bring an abundance and overflowing of all that is needed in the lives of those seeking to share Christ in and among the peoples of Cambodia and beyond.
