Churches of Christ span the world, existing in most countries. In the United States the membership is about 2.5 million and there are about 13,000 congregations in North America, including Mexico. The Central and South American churches are numerous, as well as those in the Caribbean. The European churches are a mixture of very old congregations and new efforts in many communities, as we are in Mediterranean countries. The presence in many African nations and India is very strong, the result of years of mission work and medical-mission projects. In Pacific-rim countries, there is a strong brotherhood in the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and New Guinea. There is also a growing presence in South-east Asia. Jesus commanded Christians to make disciples of all nations, which we humbly do.
