Can bad things happen to good people?
Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers out of envy. God was with him in Egypt. Out of that bad situation, he was appointed governor over that great country. His position of governor allowed him to save his family from famine. Paul was accused of preaching Jesus as Savior and hope of Israel. He was arrested out of hatred and sent to Rome to face trial. In Rome, he was granted the opportunity to teach and preach the gospel. Out of that bad experience, he was able to preach the gospel to many including the king's family. God works with us in our bad situations and disappointments. 19 But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? 20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. 21 So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them Genesis 50:19-21 12 Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. 13 As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. 14 Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly Philippians 1:12-14 Song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u42Z4qIQO4Y
